Lenten Charity Fabulous Fundraising!

9 April 2018

We are delighted to say that the total raised so far for Lenten Charity Fortnight is an incredible £2,700 and the money raised is being donated to Meningitis UK and Barnados.

Thank you to everyone who helped us to raise this amount - we really couldn't do this without your support.

There was a wonderful range of activities and events that took place in support these amazing charities and here are some of them:

Non uniform day, House cake sales, Chartwells special House menus, along with individual tutor group and other fundraising activities including tuck shops, Easter raffles, sale of home made bath bombs, filling individual smarties tubes with coins, acts of kindness - buy a chocolate figure, write a supportive message and give it to someone in school, an egg hunt, a Farington vs Worden football match, guess the amount of sweets in a jar, football tournament for Year 7 and Year 8 students

CU3 Students - individual fundraising events!

Ryan Downes, in CU3, did a sponsored swim and cycle event to raise money for Lenten Charities. He cycled more than six miles over MTB rough terrain and swam four miles over four nights. He also raised money by baking cakes and biscuits and selling them in school. Ryan raised more than £100 - which is fabulous! Well done Ryan.

Matthew Brown, in CU3, organised a tennis tournament for adults and young children to raise money for Lenten Charities. This event was a great success despite the very chilly weather! Matthew got sponsors from Cheeky Monkeys, Rascals, Screwfix and Heaven on Earth and Matthew arranged that winners got prizes too! Along with the tennis tournament, Matthew also ran a raffle on the day. Well done to Matthew who raised an amazing £75 with his event.
