Balshaw’s Charities
Balshaw’s has three registered charities that are managed independently of the school:
The Balshaw’s PTA
The Balshaw’s Parent Teacher Association is an active charity which all parents/carers are automatically a member of. It has two purposes:
- To raise additional money to provide resources to develop extra-curricular opportunity.
- To hold social and community events to promote social cohesion and strengthen the school community.

The Balshaw’s Education Foundation
The Education Foundation was established by Lord Robens who left an amount of money in trust to be used to support students of Balshaw’s and five parish primary schools known as the Parish 500. The Education Foundation is able to provide grants and it also welcomes donations and legacy gifts to provide for the work of the school. You can read more here.
The Irene Ogden Memorial Trust
Irene Ogden was a much-loved old girl of the school who left her entire estate to be used so that no student of Balshaw’s should find that financial obstacles bar they way to getting higher education. This trust fund is still in the process of being legally established.
Charitable Giving
As well as the three charities that are specifically linked to the school, he school community regularly raises money to support external charities and you can learn more about this on our Charity Work and Fundraising page here.
Financial Management
The school manages its finances carefully to ensure that the best staff are employed to deliver the best possible learning outcomes and that the buildings are well-maintained and the curriculum Is well-resourced.
