Celebrating Languages Week

We celebrated Languages Week in school from Monday 25th September to Friday 29th September.

There were a whole host of wonderful activities and events in school, including the following; Language themed activities in lessons, Language Teachers wearing outfits from various countries, foreign word bingo, breakfast delights for staff to eat, linguist of the week for staff, inter house treasure hunt, foreign films to watch every lunchtime and a bake sale on Friday for Macmillan Cancer Support. Also, on Tuesday our Year 9 students took part in an online talk from the British Council and GCHQ and on Wednesday our Year 10 and 11 language students heard from a speaker from Manchester Metropolitan University about further language learning and careers. 

Thank you to our amazing MFL staff for this wonderful week and to everyone for taking part in the events.

A huge thank you to everyone who baked, brought and bought the delicious goodies at the bake cake. You helped to raise the amazing amount of £223 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
