Leon's Success in Taekwondo
We are very proud of Leon who has recently been promoted to 1st Dan in Taekwondo.

On Tuesday 10th December, a number of our students represented Balshaw’s at the South Ribble Swim Gala.
Christmas Hampers 2024!
We wanted to say a huge thank you again this year to everyone who donated items for our Christmas Hamper collection.
Positives 2024
We have had an OUSTANDING end to 2024; there have been over 120,000 positive points awarded altogether for all year groups throughout school. Positives are awarded for all students who meet our high expectations regarding their conduct in and out of lessons.
Christmas Carol Concert
On Wednesday 18th December we held a Christmas Carol concert in school.
Year 9 Football Tournament
On Wednesday 11th December, a group of our Year 9 students went to Penwortham Priory to take part in a Year 9 B team tournament.
The UK Bebras Challenge
During the fortnight of the 4th to 15th November 2024, current Year 9 students took part in the annual UK Bebras Challenge (UKBC).
Terrific Trampolining
On Sunday 30th November, four of our amazing students; Esme, Lily, Lucy and Stephen, represented Balshaw’s in The North West Regional Trampolining competition, that took place at Robin Park in Wigan.
Charity Champions!
Autumn and Emily, two of our wonderful Year 11 students, embodied the spirit of Christmas by participating in the Jingle All The Way Charity Walk for Derian House on Saturday 9th November 2024. This annual event, held in Chorley, covers an impressive 15 miles and attracts thousands of people in Santa outfits to support this worthy cause.
Phil Earle's Visit to Balshaw's
We were delighted to welcome popular children’s author Phil Earle to school on Monday 4th November.
Year 7 Boys Progress in the Lancashire Cup
On Tuesday 10th December, our Year 7 boys’ football team played in the next stage of the Lancashire Cup. They beat Unity College with an impressive 4-0 result.

The story, written by Phil Earle, centres around a boy with little to no family left other than his Grandma, who sent him off to London.
