We have our annual Languages week taking place from Monday 22nd September.
There will be a whole host of fun events taking place for students and staff as follows:
Every day, there will be a French and Spanish film shown during lunchtime. Room 7 for French and room 8 for Spanish. There will also be themed activities during MFL lessons.
Monday: Languages teachers will be wearing a t-shirt with a French or Spanish on it. Students are asked to translate the word/phrase
Tuesday: All staff are invited to try out different languages with the students and students will judge who was the best foreign language speaker or who made the best effort. Our bilingual students will also try to teach others about their own language
Wednesday: The Languages treasure hunt will take place for Year 7 and 8 students after school for approximately one hour. There will be clues all around school for students to find. Students must have parental permission to attend.
Thursday: Students are asked to get their baking gloves on and compete in making the best internationally themed cake! Students are asked to bring them in on Thursday am. The cake sale will take place at break and money raised will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. Please ensure that bakes are nut free. Remember to bring money in to buy cake!
Friday: We will play Hello Bingo with all Key Stage 3 students. Staff will be given a badge to wear which says hello in a different language. Key Stage 3 students have a bingo grid and they are asked write the name of the member of staff and hello in that language. The student who completes their grid first will win a prize!
What an exciting week celebrating languages!
