
During the week 21st to 25th September 2026, our MFL Department held their annual Languages Week.
There was a fabulous variety of language themed activities, including the following:
During lunchtimes, students took part in Anime club, along with Love of Languages club.
Monday: Languages teachers wore a t-shirt with French or Spanish on it. Students were asked to translate the word/phrase
Tuesday: Interhouse Cup Challenge Treasure Hunt for Year 7 & 8 students. They were tasked with finding French and Spanish clues around school to help to locate the treasure
Wednesday: Speaking/Teaching Day - Teachers competed against each other, speaking languages in lessons. Students were able to vote for their favourite teacher
Thursday: Our Hall with become an International Karaoke stage during lunchtime! Students were invited to come along and learn some fun and fabulous international tunes. A great time was had by all!
Friday: Students were asked to get their baking gloves on and compete in making the best internationally themed cake! There were some amazing and delicious cakes and the sale of which helped to raise £176.32, that will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
