Richard McMunn left Balshaw's Church of England High School and briefly studied at Runshaw College before taking up a career in Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy, serving on HMS Invincible. At the age of 21 he left the Royal Navy and started a career in the Fire Service. Quickly rising through the ranks, he became one of the youngest Station Commanders in the Fire Service at the age of just 29.

After 17 years in the Fire Service Richard left to start a publishing company called How2Become Ltd. He started this business from his cellar and within 18 months of start up Richard’s business was voted by the HSBC bank as one of the top 10 best new businesses in the UK. Richard has authored over 150 books and information products, many of which are best-sellers on Amazon and in major retailers such as Waterstones.
