
In February 2025, a group of students and staff, set off for Paris for the exciting Disney trip.
This trip is an opportunity for students to hear from the key speakers about how Maths impacted their career, how Maths is a part of their day-to-day job and what aspect of the subject is their focus/passion. The organisers purposely pick lesser-known careers, as well as a variety of speakers, to show students the full range of mathematicians and all the opportunities available to a those with a qualification in Maths.
Every student was given a booklet to complete during their stay, which included: an introduction and speaker biographies, along with park challenges, for example…questions on forced perspective, working out distances and averages, calculating the size of Mickey’s ears, converting currency and more!
The trip was a wonderful success, and everyone behaved impeccably and really enjoyed it.
