Balshaw's Parents' Forum - Wednesday 6th November 6.30pm
31 October – 6 November 2024
Balshaw’s Church of England High School would like to set up a parent forum as a means of having a sustained dialogue with a committed and informed group of parents on a range of issues that impact the day-to-day life of their children.
The school’s Parent Forum can include every parent/carer who has a child enrolled at the school.
The Parent Forum is a way for us to encourage more parents to get involved in school life. They are informal groups, led by the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team where parents can be consulted, give their views and raise issues. In doing so, they can work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support the improvement of the school.
Meetings will take place once a term at 6.30pm on a Wednesday evening. The first meeting will take place on Wednesday 6th November. Following the Parent Forum the Balshaw's Association PTA meet and you are invited to join this meeting to find out more about how the PTA support enrichment opportunities for students at Balshaw's.
As a member of the Parent Forum, you have an important role in working closely with the Senior Leaders on issues which may include:
- The Christian Life and Mission of the school
- School vision and values
- Home Learning
- Behaviour for learning
- After school activities
- After School Clubs
- Reading
- Term dates
- Break and lunch times
- School uniform
- Communication
- Special events
- Parent evenings
- Curriculum
- School trips
- Residential trips
- PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education)
- Charity Events
- Healthy schools
- Safety and security
- School based policies (that most impact parents)
If you would like to be a member of the Parents’ Forum, please look for the Synergy message, sent by Mr Haycocks on Wednesday 30th October 2024, and complete the form.
