Spring Fair and Family Fun Day 2019

Well, what a super day, our Spring Fair and Family Fun Day was and what amazing sunny weather! We are so very lucky to have wonderful staff, students, patrons, volunteers and supporters who give up their time to make this day so much fun.

This year the proceeds are going to support our school and Derian House. We are delighted to let you know that on the day we raised over £4,000 and that will be a great help to both school and the wonderful Derian House, who do so much for families during difficult times.

We started off with the grand opening at 11am by the Mayor and Mayoress. Our retiring head girl, Jessica and retiring head boy, Ben and this year we also had ‘Lightening McQueen’!

One of our best compliments is that we have many things on that are free to enjoy including the following: The Lancashire Wallopers, Leyland RAF cadets, Leyland Morris Men, Northwest reptiles, Porsche owners display club, Waitrose tractor, Blood Bikes, the local fire engine and staff. We have the added bonus that your ticket also includes a free raffle entry with the chance to win some great prizes. We also had a range of fabulous stalls in the main hall along with the wonderful bottle, gift and chocolate tombolas, which are always so very popular!

We are extremely proud of our music department and the amazingly talented current and former students who always put on a superb show throughout the day. We have two incredible Rock School bands who performed on the day and the following students played in these bands Owen, Andrew, Adam, Tom, Joshua, Eve, Oliver and Elizabeth Brown. We also have some amazingly talented solo performers who took to the stage and they were Rachel, Ruby, Joe, Jamie, Harry and former student Lilly. Thanks to our technical team of Mrs Atkinson-Brown, Mr Turner and Owen who made sure that the event ran so smoothly.

It was great to see everyone having so much fun on the rides and activity stalls. Including fabulous giant inflatables from Ice Adventures.

There was amazing array of food and drink on offer throughout the day too from tasty burgers and pizzas to scrumptious ice creams and yummy crepes from Daisy Catering.

We look forward to seeing you all again next May – date to be confirmed.
