Staff Football Friendly for Lancashire Mind

On Wednesday 23rd February, we hosted our second Staff Charity Football Friendly. Following on from Children’s Mental Health Week the decision was made to donate the money to Lancashire Mind.

Several of our wonderful staff volunteered to take part in the event to raise money for this worthy cause.

The team players were: 

 Team 1: Mr Darr ©, Mr Blakeley, Mr Coughlan, Mr Sajid

 Team 2: Mr O’Neill ©, Mr Daniels, Mr Duckworth, Mr Saville - King

Over 190 students bought tickets to watch the match! This made for such a fabulous atmosphere and lots of great encouragement for the players! There was the added excitement of a mascot and students were trying to guess who the mystery person was! Rumour has it that it  was Mrs Henderson but we await confirmation!

Once again, it was a really great match with lots of goals, along with near misses! The final score was 11-10 and the winning team was Team 1 – Mr Darr’s Team.  Congratulations to the winning team and a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to play or watch this wonderful evening of football fun and helped us to raise the wonderful amount of £353.50 for Lancashire Mind.
