Year 10 Boys Through to the Semi Finals of the Lancashire County Cup!

Our Year 10 boys team have reached the final four in Lancashire after another nail biting extra time game. The team travelled over to Burnley to face Shuttleworth College in the quarter finals in what was a very evenly contested game. 

The game remained 0 - 0 right up to the final 15 minutes when Shuttleworth capitalised on a rare defensive error to go 1 - 0 up. Balshaw's had to quickly regain their composure and with a couple of tactical switches they were able to equalise with 5 minutes to go of normal time to take the game to extra time (again!!). Extra time was a tense affair with both sides nervously considering the possibility of a penalty shoot out to decide the game! That was until Beau F, who had been switched from Centre Back to forward position, popped up with chance on goal and slotted it neatly home to win the game!

Balshaw's now face Hodgson in the semi final, which will be a very tough fixture having been knocked out by them last year.

A place in the County final awaits the winner though, so good luck to the team when that semi final arrives!
