Our Year 9’s played in the South Ribble Netball tournament in March at All Hallows.
A huge well done to the Year 8 netball team!
On Thursday 17th March, I am delighted to say that our U16s Girls 7-a-side team finished in first place in the South Ribble competition.
Well done to the Year 7 and Year 8 Girls Indoor Athletics team who came 3rd and 4th respectively out of 9 schools at the recent South Ribble Schools' Indoor Athletics Championships.
Well done to our Sports Leaders who did a fantastic job refereeing the Leyland Primary Schools' Girls Football Tournament held on our 3G pitch.
On Thursday 10th March, nine of our under 13 girls took part in a 7-a-side competition.
More success for our Year 7 girls, who won their second match against Penwortham Girls High School team this week.
The under 13's 6-a-side football team took part in a Blackburn Rovers community trust football tournament on Monday 13th December.
The under 14s girls' football team have been in good form in the past two rounds of the Lancashire cup, in Round 1, beating Ormskirk 17-1, and then in Round 2 beating a good Bowland side, 7-4.
The Year 11 boys' football team are fortunate enough to be in round 3 of the Lancashire cup this year, with a bye in the first round and a 1-0 forfeit in Round 2.
A huge well done and thank you to all our students who represented Balshaw's on Saturday 20th November.
It's been another successful few weeks for our Year 9 football squad who have won two more important fixtures.
On Tuesday 9th November, our under 13 girls took part in a South Ribble 6-a-side tournament.
A huge well done to these 11 superstars who gave up their Friday evening to represent Clayton House in the Year 9, 10 and 11 Inter-house Football.
After their success in the second round of the English Schools cup last week, our Year 9 boys faced Bishop Rawstorne in the first round of the Lancashire County Cup, this week.
On Wednesday 6th October, our Year 9 boys' football team travelled over to Manchester Grammar School to play them in the second round of the English Schools Cup.
Back in February 2020, we were really thrilled to hear that Charlotte, one of our students who was in Year 9, had won a national competition to design a football shirt for the Playstation F.C. Schools’ Cup.
On Monday 19th April, the Lancashire Schools Golf Championships were held at Pleasington Golf Club. Over 50 golfers took part.
At the end of 2020, a large number of our students took part in the Playstation F.C. Schools’ Cup competition to design a kit.
Year 9 student, Jenson Warren, competed for Lancashire Schools at the English Schools' Cross Country Championships which were held at Sefton Park in Liverpool on Saturday 14th March.
Well done to our gymnastics team who competed in the South Ribble Floor and Vault Championships on Thursday 5th March.
Our U16s and U14s table tennis teams took part in the South Ribble Table Tennis competition, held at Balshaw's on Wednesday 4th March.
We are incredibly proud of Charlotte Clapham, in Year 9, who has won the national PlayStation F.C. Schools’ Cup Concept Kit Competition, with her amazing design that was placed in the final 10.
A huge well done to the super talented Year 7 netball team who won their first ever school match on Tuesday 21st January against Leyland St Mary's.
Congratulations to Jenson Warren who finished 7th in the Junior Boys section, at Lancashire Schools Cross Country, on Saturday 18th January 2020.
Our Year 7 and 8 boys took part in the South Ribble Indoor Athletics competition held at Lostock Hall on Monday 2nd December.
Our Year 7 team travelled over to Colne, in December, to play against Fishermoore High School.
Congratulations to the Year 7 boys' 7-a-side squad who have won the initial group stage of the Lancashire County Cup beating Worden and All Hallows.
Congratulations to the U15s cricket team who finished their year off with a win over Leyland St Mary's.
In July 2019, Phoebe Rogerson in Year 7, travelled to Portugal to represent England in the Dance World Cup.
Congratulations to the U13's Rugby team who finished the year with a win over Worden Academy, 38-26.
It was another scorching day for Balshaw's annual Sports Day in which the best athletes from each House competed in a range of Athletic events.

On the 18th June, the under 13's touch rugby team did the school proud by qualifying for the Lancashire School Games for the 3rd consecutive year!
