Superb Swimming!

On the weekend of the 2^nd and 3^rd November, 2024, two of our fantastic students competed at the Swim England North West Winter Regional Championships. To get to compete at this event is an achievement in itself as the age category is U16 and requires swimmers to achieve extremely quick qualifying times!

Beth A and Honor L (who swim for Leyland Barracudas and Preston) both achieved several qualifying times enabling them to compete.

Beth swam in the 100m IM, 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke and the 200m Breaststroke. Beth posted PBs in all three of her Breaststroke events, medalling in the 100m and 200m (silver in both) and also achieved Winter National Qualifying times in these events. A phenomenal achievement as one of the youngest swimmers in this age category!

Honor swam in the 50m Fly and 100m Fly. Not only did Honor get a personal best in the 50m Fly, she also achieved the fastest short course time in the female 15 year age category, in Britain, so far for 2024! Honor finishing 2^nd overall (silver medal) and 4^th in the 100m Fly again as one of the youngest swimmers competing. Honor already had Winter National times in these events! 

Winter Nationals take place in December 2024 at Ponds Forge. We look forward to hearing how these two super swimmers get on against the best swimmers in England!
