Careers Fair 2024

We were delighted to host a successful Careers Fair on Thursday 21st November 2024.  This event was able to bring guidance from Sixth Form Colleges, Apprenticeship providers and future employers under one roof at Balshaw’s to give a high quality of advice to our students about the next steps on their progression from school. 

Despite the snowy conditions, we had over 20 providers and over 100 students book and attend the event, all the way from Year 9 to Year 11.  Students and parents were able to speak to providers and ask their own questions, allowing time to see the many options open to them with a strong educational achievement from Balshaw’s.

We were grateful that a wide range of providers joined us on the evening including Runshaw College, Preston College, Eric Wright, Leyland Trucks, D and G Builders, the NHS, the forces and Steven Gerrard Football Academy, who travelled from all over the County and further afield.  We thank all the providers for the extra time taken out of their busy schedules, that they gave up to speak to our students, and it was also nice to see some of our Balshavians returning in their new roles representing companies and showing career progression. 

We also give thanks to our Careers Adviser Mrs Khan who supports students with independent advice and guidance, and stayed for the evening to speak to students and parents about her role.
