In August 2025, we heard that Finley, in Year 11, was awaiting the decision about a place in the Great Britain Cycling Team Development Squad.
We are absolutely delighted to share the exciting news that Finley has secured a place!

I promised to update you all on the outcome of Finley’s application to join the Great Britain Cycling Team Olympic Development Squad.
I’m thrilled to announce that he’s been successful in his application and is the only BMX rider that will start on the program as of the 1st October (backdated) – there will also be a formal induction on the 27th October where he will receive all his Team GB kit etc.
The move up comes with many benefits one of which is that Finley is enrolled as a TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) Athlete (Home Page - TASS) which adds healthcare, wellbeing, Nutrition, S&C support etc to his Team GB coaching support which in turn helps relieve a small part of the financial and post injury care we face year on year..
We are very excited for Finley (he’s rightly thrilled) and it’s fantastic to see all his hard work being recognised by the sport’s governing body. As always the support of the school is nothing short of amazing, and we thank you all for helping enable Finley to perform to the best of his ability…
An exciting few years lie ahead for him… and there is much work to do, both academically and in his chosen sport, thanks so much for all your continued support….
What a wonderful achievement Finley, we are so incredibly proud of you and obviously looking forward to hearing about your progress!
Another thank you to Mr Hough for sharing this news.
