Olivia's Volunteering Adventure

We were delighted to hear that Olivia B, in Year 8, has taken on the responsibility of volunteering at Leyland Library.

Here is what Olivia has said about her important role:

I started volunteering for Leyland Library in March 2023, and have since been offered lots of opportunities through them. I have completed many days out, such as an interview I did at Lancashire County Hall for Director of Education, Culture & Skills, as part of the child panel.

I have also more recently gone out to Lancashire archives and had a workshop day with my fellow volunteers.

I have recently been accepted into the role of Young Advisor. I will receive training for this and will then go on to fulfil this position. It involves me (and others) working with those who are around children, and advising them on how to do things, based on feedback. I am lucky to be in this position and am excited to complete it.
