After a difficult season but a great cup run, a few people probably expected that this would be the team's final game together. How wrong were they... After a nervous opening 20 minutes in an even game, Sam McK was able to battle past a strong defence and put us 1-0 up before Alfie S decided now was the time to show off his best David Beckham impression as he curled a freekick into the top corner. A well worked freekick for Walton-le-Dale pulled a goal back and Balshaw's went in 2-1 up at half time after a cagey first half.

The game really could have gone either way in the second half, some great saves from goalkeeper James T meant Balshaw's were able to weather the figurative and literal storm. Just as Walton-le-Dale began to turn up the pressure, Balshaw's team captain, Harry McD found the bottom corner with a volley. Pandemonium on the side line! From there, Balshaw's turned into Brazil. Will W's long-range effort made it 4-1 before two close range goals from Alfie S and Seb G sealed the game. An emphatic 6-1 victory in the semi-finals

Another incredible effort has seen Balshaw's reach the final of the South Ribble Cup. It has not been decided who we meet in the final yet, but the boys deserve a great deal of credit for making it this far. On to the final!
